Is the price of the dedicated server the most important thing when you are choosing between different web hosts? Obviously, yes! Another key issue is the reputation of the web hosting provider. I'm sure that what I'm saying here is not news. But those 2 factors are very important for the web hosts. Let me know tell you what is important for me.
1. Web host to be customer friendly. This means to respond promptly and to resolve the issues customers have (when it is part of the Terms of Service). Using Skype, MSN, ICQ or any other messenger to communicate with customers helps a lot.
2. Another important things is network web host maintains. There are plenty of cheap dedicated server providers (offerings under $70/month) out there, but an important question is what kind of connectivity and network do they have. Does it really have 99.99% uptime
3. Reliable hardware. I do not recommend to anyone to get cheap servers. When you buy a cheap dedicated server you risk your web business and projects.
Those are only 3 things I think anyone should keep in mind when choosing a dedicated hosting. What do you guys think?
