The first step is to see exactly how your VPS plan performs with a benchmarking soft for this example i will provide results from all of our available VPS hosting plans with the simply installable piece of software named unixbench :

1.Install the necessary software:

Quote
yum -y groupinstall "Development Tools"

Quote
cd /tmp

Quote
wget http://members.dslextreme.com/users/andylee/unixbench-4.1.0-wht.tar.gz

Quote
tar -xvf unixbench-4.1.0-wht.tar.gz

Quote
cd unixbench-4.1.0-2/

Quote
./Run

The first test is with CentOS 86x64 on a VPS Start Package :

FINAL SCORE                                                     220.3

If you VPS server gives off above 90 score that means good and very good since it means the percentage of performance good .

You can use this scoring system, to see exactly what is the difference between some tune up's you do on your system and if they really are useful !
