Through the years I have seen a lot of folks who has worked hard to create quality posts in free blogging platforms such as blogger.com, blogspot.com, wordpress.com, etc. and when one day wanted to sell their blogs, to realized that they didn't have ownership over them.
As you know nothing is free! You might get a Free Domain with
Host Color or any other hosting provider, but it is actually a complimentary service for those who pay for web hosting. When you get a free blog from any of the larger publishing networks you agree that they have the right to use and distribute your content. In most cases they even they own it.
Many people think that their Facebook and Twitter accounts are their property... Not at all! They are fully owned by Facebook and Twitter. It is the same with Blogger.com, Blogspot and any other free blogging platform. One day you could find out that your blog or account is not yours.
It might be an accident. Even if any of the above mentioned networks does not intend to limit access to your account, it could loose your data at any time and you will not be compensated.
So my advise is simple! Register web address (domain name) and publish anything your own URL!
PS: this is not an article or a statement, so I'd like to hear what do you think about it. Give me pros and cons about branded publications.
