HostColor MODx Tutorials QA Thread
« on: November 16, 2009, 01:55:06 PM »

I decided to open this thread to consolidate any MODx questions that may arise out of the tutorial series that I will be doing on the Mary's Corner (http://blog.hostcolor.com/category/marys-corner/) column of the HostColor blog. If you haven't checked it out yet, please go ahead and look through the first few articles and post back here if you have questions and such.  And I encourage anyone who knows something about MODx to check in here regularly and help out with answering questions so we can build a nice knowledge base.

I will be covering other CMSs and topics on the column but there will be a heavy focus on the MODx CMS.  If it's okay with the site admins we will have QA threads for any CMS series covered in the blog so that there's a nice support base and resource center right here in the forums.

The tutorials are very focused to HostColor's hosting setup and anything I work through is done on an account hosted at HostColor so you know it works.

Looking forward to your feedback, questions, etc.

Do you think that it is a good idea to create video series... I mean do you think that videos will be more interesting to those who will be making themselves known with MODx?

Certainly video tutorials are helpful.  I like both written and video tutorials, sometimes written are better because you can print them and work at your own pace, and video tutorials can be hard to watch if you don't have a fast connection.

Nonetheless, the current agreement I have with HostColor covers written tutorials, but if that changes then I can definitely do video tutorials too, but that would be up to the HostColor staff.
