Hello, I've had an idea for starting a (I hope long) series of tutorials which might be helpful for people who are facing the same problems. Today I'm going to write a simple guide for transferring your own domain name to HostColor. This is rather simple process, however it can be confusing for the people who are not familiar with it.

First off, you need to make some adjustments inside the control panel of your old Hosting Company/ Registrar and get some information from there. If you don't have a control panel for your domain name, you should contact the customer support there. You must change the status of your domain name to "unlocked/active" in order to transfer this domain name successfully. The second thing you need to do is to get the Authorization/EPP code which is required for the transfer process to complete. Note that depending on your domain TLD you might not need such code.

The next step is starting the transfer process. Once you have made your order with us, you should know that we will need the Authorization code, that you got earlier. You can send us that code on our e-mail support (at) hostcolor.com or you can open a ticket for this.

After this step, the process should be initiated initiated in the next few minutes. You will receive a confirmation on the e-mail, that you have officially places as a contact info where you have to agree for the transfer process to continue.
