Hello, I am trying to help a family member update her already existing website. The site was built by someone for her, but it didnt work out with that person, so she has obtained the programs used to maintain the website herself. The problem is in order to publish the new updates we need to know the base directory in which the files and assets were originally stored. Is there a way to find out what we need from you guys (the service provider) or is there another way around it? Please help, any advice will be much appreciated.

Hello amp9965,

Welcome to the forums!

Would you please let us know the domain in question ? We use two types of hosting control panels and the base directory differs, depending which one is used for that particular account. Nevertheless, it should be either /mainwebsite_html/ (shortcut for /var/www/html/) or public_html for cPanel.

I hope this helps. Let us know should you have further questions.

Best Regards,
